PLEASURE DOME (Binghamton, NY)

Pleasure Dome powers the echoes of 60s surf through the urgent gloom of 80s darkwave. Currently a four-piece, the band has been central to the Binghamton underground scene since their inception in 2021. After numerous singles and a split, Pleasure Dome recorded Ellie, an EP of five songs (and Healthy Dose's first release) in 2023. Ellie is a stunner, with lyrics of foreboding and desire, stilleto-sharp guitar lines and propulsive rhythm. The atmosphere recalls the vibe of bands like Chameleons or Nighttime-era Killing Joke, stripped and focused with a keen eye to the apocalyptic modern world. They are from Binghamton, after all, often referenced as the childhood home to Rod Serling and inspiration for The Twilight Zone.
